I came alone to Ottawa, Canada, in 2018 to attend university. I wanted to get away from the strange surroundings and my challenging academics. Things changed when I joined the school's Women's Ultimate Frisbee team. I visited more areas and took in more scenery due to the frisbee team. It made it easier for me to adjust to Ottawa, overcome my homesickness, and experience Canada's culture of teamwork and humanism.

The rapid outbreak, though, upset everything. I did not give up, and in 2022 I re-joined the Ultimate Frisbee Team. Half of the reason I feel connected to Ottawa is because of the game of frisbee and the team that plays it. For me, playing ultimate frisbee is more than simply a sport; it also gives me a sense of community and belonings in Ottawa.
