JINGYAN WANG
The sound is endless
-声生不息-
People's memories can constantly be stirred by certain sounds. For me, the serving bell, ringing bell, Korean music, and other sounds always bring to mind my par-time work at Alirang in Merivale, Ottawa.
These voices identify various stories. For instance, the service bell makes me think of the time I misheard a customer ask for a beer as a bill, the serving bell brings to mind of the time I clumsily served a customer with a tray, the phone bell recalls my memory of the first time I answered the phone while having sweating and trembling, etc. This audio is a microcosm of my day at the restaurant. Even though doing a part-time job is boring, I have to admit that these inane voices perfectly sum up my entire experience.
This is undoubtedly an important aspect of my life experience. These voices represent both my experience working part-time and my stepping outside of my comfort zone. I also gained a lot of experience throughout that time. It enhances my personality, resilience, and communication skills.
